Jay Underwood

  Funeral services for Jay Underwood, 82, were held Tuesday, July
16, 1996, at 1 p.m., at Warren Meadows Chapel, with brother Joe
Phillips, and Bro. Benny Miers officiating.

  Ms. Underwood passed away Sunday, July 14, in Shreveport,
(Dubuis Hospital).

  She is survived by three daughters, Marvilene Merritt, Bonnie
Salter, both of Shreveport, and Virgie Karr of Keithville; two
sons, Milton V. Underwood of Fort Worth, Tex., and Lynn B.
Underwood of Minden; two sisters, Tempie Dockens of Waco, Tex.,
and Donna Skinner of Many; two brothers, Brady Henderson, and
Milton, both of Shreveport; 26 grandchildren; 18 great
grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and close friends.

  Pallbearers were Marcus Salter, Randy Christian, Patrick Karr,
Bruce Underwood, Winfred "Sparky" Weldon, and David Duncan.
