Father William O'Hanlon officiated. Graveside services were at 1 p.m., at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Many. Mrs. Van Veckhoven died at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 1986, at P and S Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Many, and had been a resident of Shreveport for 53 years. She was a member of St. John Berchmans Co-Cathedral in Shreveport, and was cook for the Centenary Choir camp for 25 years. She is survived by her husband, Amuel M. Van Veckhoven of Shreveport; seven daughters, Mrs. Martha Jo Boose of Shreveport, Miss Eula Lie Van Veckhoven of Westland, Mich., Miss Mildred Van Veckhoven of Shreveport, Mrs. Susan Brand of Pineland, Texas, Mrs. Paula Jean Newman of Baldwin Park, Calif., Mrs. Sylvia DeHart of Mary Esther, Fla., and Mrs. Rebecca Matthews of Shreveport; one son, Harvey J. Van Veckhoven of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Evie Hopkins of Many, and Mrs. Nettie Cobbs of Jena; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons.
