Vaughan, 89, were held at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Interment was in Mount Olive Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Vaughan passed away on November 12, 1994, at 5:45 in the Sabine Medical Center of Many. Mr. Vaughan was born May 14, 1905, to Jefferson Davis and Anna Vaughan, in Heflin, Alabama. He married Mary Couch on September 9, 1971, in Lake Charles. Mr. Vaughan was a retired educator from Alabama. He visited Toledo Bend in 1977, while on a fishing trip. He then returned to the area in 1978, and decided to settle in the area. He was a member of Deacon of Econ Primitive Baptist Church of Leesville, La. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Mary C. Vaughan of Many; four sisters, Lola Belle, and Reba Vaughan, both of Anniston, Alabama, Lula Townsend of Tallapoosa, Georgia, and Rosa Vaughan of East Point, Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
