Officiating was Father James E. Flowers Jr., pastor of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church. Interment was in Mansfield Cemetery. Mrs. Valentine passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, at Schumpert Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Shreveport, and was a resident of Mansfield. She was a retired licensed practical nurse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Charles Valentine. Survivors include two sons, Albert M. "Mike" Rives IV and wife Cheryl of Mansfield, and Judson C. Rives and wife Hilda of Mansfield; daughter, Beth Adams and husband James Ray of Mansfield; grandchildren, Patrick Scott Rives, Robert Martin Rives, Ryan Wade Hampton, Carie Darlene Rives, Elizabeth Virginia Rives, Amanda Marie Adams, And James Ray Adams Jr.; mother-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn S. Valentine of Mansfield; and brother-in-law, Kermie Valentine and wife Celeste of Mansfield. Her late husband, at one time, was a co-owner of Valentine Ready-Mix in Many.
