Mrs. Claudia Valentine

  Mrs. Claudia McCormick Valentine, 71, died in Gulfport, Miss.,
Jan. 6, after a sudden illness. She is survived by two sons, E.
C. McCormick of Many, and George McCormick of Shreveport; one
daughter, Mrs. Lucille Allison of Gulfport; two brothers, Horace
Tompkins of Many, and John M. Tompkins of Shreveport; two
sisters, Mrs. Amanda Bray of Many, and Mrs. Ethel Wright of Many;
and five grandchildren.

  Services were held at the Many First Baptist Church, Jan. 8,
with the Rev. John H. Beard, and the Rev. Perry Lassiter
officiating. Interment was at Ebenezer Cemetery in Florien.

  Pallbearers were Vernice Calvin Wright, Dr. Hollis Bray, Hoyt
Tompkins Jr., Ronnie Tompkins, Victor Tompkins, and Ed Keynnon.
