Van Veckhoven died Sunday, July 3, in Washington, D. C., at the age of 31. He was a native of Many, and resided for a time in Alexandria. He was librarian at Brooklyn Library in Washington. Religious rites were held at St. Pius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge at 9 a.m., July 7. Father Green officiated. Burial was in Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his father, James T. Van Veckhoven of Baton Rouge; his mother, Mrs. Mary P. Werner of Grand Junction, Colo.; and a brother, James T. Van Veckhoven Jr. of Baton Rouge. He held a master's degree in library science from LSU, and attended Chamberlain-Hunt Military Academy, Port Gibson, Miss.
