Van Veckhoven Funeral services for Willie Joseph Van Veckhoven, 79, of Hornbeck, were held Friday, Jan. 6, in Mitchell Church in Anacoco, with the Rev. Robert Graham, and the Rev. Clarence Weld officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Mr. Van Veckhoven died Jan. 4, in a Many clinic, after a brief illness. Survivors are his widow; one son, Clarence B. Van Veckhoven of Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Overt Bolton of Mora, Mrs. L. J. Dowden of Plainview, Mrs. Allie Chesire of Conroe, Tex., and Mrs. Robert Malina of San Diego, Calif.; two stepsons, Herbert Ray of Pasadena, Tex., and J. T. Ray of Houston, Tex.; six sisters, Mrs. William Robbins of Robeline, Mrs. DeWitt Colston, Mrs. Thomas Bush, Mrs. Viola Martin, all of Many, Mrs. Floyd Nelms of Hornbeck, and Mrs. Vilona Marcus of Alexandria; three brothers, Theodore Van Veckhoven, both of Florien, and Otto Van Veckhoven of Lake Charles; 24 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
