Gertie Vines

  Gertie Vines, 55, of Zwolle, died Saturday, July 9, at 10:12
p.m., after a short illness.

  Funeral services were held Monday, July 11, at 2 p.m., in the
Zwolle first Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lee Dickson
officiating. Interment was in the Zwolle Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  She is survived by her husband, Edward Vines of Zwolle; two
sons, Edward Acey Vines Jr. of Houston, Tex., and Johnny Lee
Vines of Zwolle; two brothers, Lee Scarber of DeQuincy, and
Albert Garess of Leesville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Clifton of
DeQuincy; and four grandchildren.

  Mrs. Vines' body was taken to the Zwolle First Baptist Church,
Monday, July 11, at 10;45 a.m., to lie in state until the service
time.

  She was employed by the Sabine Parish Association of Retarded
children, and was known as "Granny" to all those who attend.
