Vines, 64, was dead on arrival at a Laurel hospital Monday afternoon, April 3. Born in Noble, La., he moved to Laurel eight years ago from Houma, La. Vines was a salesman for Dailey Oil Tools, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. The funeral was at 11 a.m., Wednesday, from Memory Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Graves officiating. Burial was in Sar?insville Cemetery in Sar?insville. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jewel Carney Vines of the same address; a son, Waymon F. Vines Jr., a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Wiley, and a granddaughter, Cheryl Wiley, all of Shreveport; and two brothers, Ray W. Vines of Noble; and J. R. Vines of Lafayette. Pallbearers were Johnny Patrick, Charles Curtis, Kermit Townsend, Terry Patrick, Mark Treat, and Doug Dearman.
