Mr. Mitchell Gilbert Vines

  Mr. Mitchell Gilbert Vines, 69, of Converse, died Sunday, July
9, 2000, at Dubuis Hospital in Shreveport, after a brief illness.

  Mr. Vines was a retired dispatcher for Murphy Exploration
Production Company.

  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 12, at
First Baptist Church of Converse, with interment to follow at
Converse Cemetery. The Rev. James Miller officiated.

  Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Melveana Gates Vines of
Converse; one son, Mitchell W. Vines and wife Mary of Shreveport;
two brothers, Alan L. Vines and wife Sue of Lake Charles, and
Billy G. Vines of Shreveport; and two grandchildren, Lauren, and
Garland Vines. Mr. Vines was preceded in death by his parents,
Mitchell Garland Vines, and Annie Leysath Vines.
