Funeral services were held at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home, at 3 p.m., on Thursday, March 27, with the Rev. Johnnie Rhodes officiating. Pallbearers were Ralph Vines, Louis Maxey, R. L. Maxey, and Hoyt Maxey. The survivors are nieces and nephews; Edward Lee Vines, and Gerald Vines of Houston, Texas; Betty Vines Diesen of Whittier, California; Hazel Vines, Henry Kingdon Vnes, and Oree Vines Satcher of Shreveport; and Catherine Vines Davis of Many. Miss Vines was born on a LaNana Creek farm on February 25, 1884. She attended the one room community schoolhouse Vines school. She later attended the Louisiana State Normal College in Natchitoches. Her elementary school teaching experiences included the Pisgah, Plainview, and Fisher schools. Miss Vines' parents were William Richard Vines, and Catherine Maxey Vines. Her grandparents were George Vines, and Betty Speight Vines. The maternal grandparents were John J. Maximillian, and Aimee Christy Maximillian. Her great grandfather, John Ignatius Maximillian was born in Colonial Natchitoches in 1782, helped build El Camino Real road, and inherited El Lobanillo Ranch, Geneva, Texas, which was an inn for travelers crossing the Sabine River going into Spanish Texas.
