Vines Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 6, for Henry Hampton Vines, 78, who passed away after an extended illness, Sunday, April 4. The Rev. Paul Ferrant, and the Rev. R. M. Roach officiated at the services, which were held in the St. Patricio Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Cassell Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Pallbearers were W. T. Boyd, Alan Vines, Gerald Ezernack, and J. P. Cassell. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. H. H. Vines of Converse; six sons, Drannan Vines of San Antonio, Tex., Carson, and Judson Vines of Center, Tex., Custer Vines of Chula Vista, Calif., Spurgeon Vines of Converse, and Huey Vines of Germany; four daughters, Mrs. Oma Dwire of St. Augustine, Tex., Mrs. Alford Bell of Georgetown, Tex., Mrs. John Dorman of Portland, Michigan, and Mrs. Jack Torres of Lake Charles; two stepsons, Jimmy Phillips of Zwolle, and William Guvana of Shreveport; one step daughter, Mrs. Mary Vison of Shreveport; one brother, Mitch Vines of Benson; sister, Mrs. Trussie Lampley of Lufkin, Tex.; 24 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
