J. R. Vines

  Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, for John Roy
Vines, 83, who passed away Friday, April 16, after a short
illness, in Converse.

  The Rev. C. C. Pearce, and the Rev. R. M. Roach officiated at
the services, which were held at San Patricio Baptist Church.
Interment was in Cassel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home of Many.

  Pallbearers were Claude Maxey, Morris Adair, Garland Vines, Ted
Adair, Franklin Vines, and Horace Whitehurst.

  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. J. R. Vines of Noble; three sons,
Roy of Noble, and Waymon of Laurel, Miss., and J. R. Jr. of
Lafayette; one daughter, Mrs. Winnie Sanderson of Converse; one
brother, Preston of Noble; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Dupuy of
Alexandria, Mrs. Colon Thames of Noble; ten grandchildren; and
five great grandchildren.
