Baptist Church for Silas Vines, who passed away suddenly in Dallas, Tex. Tuesday. Rev. C. F. Brown conducted the service, which was under the direction of McLellan Funeral Home. Interment was in the Davidson Cemetery. Miss Carol Gaston, pianist, accompanied the Davidson High School Choir, singing "Nearer My God to Thee", and "Farther Along". Pallbearers included Bob McKinney, Chester Hair, Ernest Hickerson, Alvin McClure, Lester Fillmore, Vernon Dale Lewis. Vines was preceded in death by his wife, the former Miss Nora Mae Mason of Davidson. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Vines, who makes her home with her grandparents in Davidson; father, H. H. Vines, Noble; brothers, Drannon Vines, San Antonio, Tex., K. C. Vines, and W. J. Vines, both of Center, Texas, Spurgeon Vines, Converse, Custer Vines, Chula Vista, Calif., Hughey Vines, Germany; sisters, Mrs. B. C. Dwire, San Augustine, Tex., Mrs. Fred Bell, Castorville, Tex., Mrs. Johnny Dornan, Portland, Mich., and Mrs. Jack Torres, Kenner.
