Ricky Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder. Mrs. Van Neste died at 4:48 a.m., April 21, 2003, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. Mrs. Van Neste was born in Belmont, and traveled the world as a military wife. She returned to DeRidder in 1963, where she taught elementary school. She was a graduate of Northwestern State University, with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in DeRidder, the Beauregard and Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, and the Retired Officers Wive's; Club at Fort Polk. Survivors include her son, Sam Van Neste of Mamou; two daughters, Gwen Anderson of DeRidder, and Jennet Gray of The Woodland, Texas; sisters, Katherine Patrick of Dallas, Texas, and Marie Brown of Kingman, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
