Vandegaer, 65, were held Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, in Kansas City, Mo. Services were held in St. James Catholic Church, and interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. His death came unexpectedly. Mr. Vandegaer was born in Many, but lived in Kansas City for ?3 years. He was a telegraph operator for the Kansas City Southern Railroad. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, it's Holy Name, a Society, and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Vandegaer visited in Many shortly before his death, Sept. 22 through Sept. 26. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian L. Vandegaer; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Vessline, and Mrs. Wilmena Thompson of Kansas City, and Sister Paula of Canoga Park, Calif.; a brother, Msgr. John C. Vandegaer of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. Theresa Corley of Many; and 10 grandchildren.
