Edna M. Van Meter

  Edna Mims Van Meter, 69, formerly of Natchitoches and
Shreveport, died Saturday, Oct. 1, in Shiprock, N. M.

  Services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, in the Blanchard-St.
Denis Funeral Home Chapel in Natchitoches, with the Rev. Earl
Marr officiating. Burial was in the Marthaville Cemetery.

  Survivors include five sons, Frank Van Meter of Knoxville,
Tenn., Jim Van Meter, Rome, Ga., Gerald Van Meter of Portland,
Ore., Hampton Van Meter of Magnolia, Miss., and Bobbie Van Meter
of Bossier City; one daughter, Mrs. Janetta Shirley of Aztec, N.
M.; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Grappe of Natchitoches; two brothers,
Alton Mims of Amarillo, Texas, and Edwin Mims of Shreveport; 15
grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
