Varnado Funeral Rites at Fort Jesup Friday Otha E. Varnado, 54, passed away March 4 at Shreveport. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. March 5 in Fort Jesup Baptist church by Rev. V. L. Pruitt pastor of Calvary Baptist church, assisted by Rev. Charles Duncan Franklin and Rev. Welch B. Green of Simpson. Graveside services were held by Robeline Masonic lodge. Interment was under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Pallbearers were H. J. Mims of Many, Melvin Rhodes of Shreveport, Reuben Goodman of Many, Evie Stoker of Robeline, W. L. Pharris of Lake Charles and Wilton Anthony of Shreveport. Mr. Varnado is survived by his wife, Mrs. O. E. Varnado of Franklin; son, O. E. Varnado Jr., of Robeline; sisters, Mrs. H. J. Mims and Mrs. Reuben Goodman of Many, Mrs. Ray Winn and Mrs. Melvin Rhodes of Shreveport and Mrs. Raymond Salter of Illinois; brothers, John and Morris Varnado of Many. Those from out-of-town attending the funeral of Mr. Varnado were: Mrs. Karl Pederson of Houston, Texas; Mrs. T. W. Dovion, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Taulstick and Mr. and Mrs. W. L.
