Clarence Varnell

  Funeral services for Clarence "Dick" Varnell, 70, of Shreveport,
were at 10 a.m., Monday, June 21, in the Southside Chapel of
Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with Dr. J. G. Tharpe, pastor of
Missionary Baptist Church, and the Rev. Bill Kincaid, associate
pastor of Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was at
noon in Marthaville Cemetery.

  Mr. Varnell Died Tuesday, June 15, in Doctor's Hospotal, after a
short illness.

  A native of Marthaville, he had lived in Shreveport since 1957.
He was a retired Barber, and a member of Missionary Baptist
church.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lottie Varnell of Shreveport;
two sons, Hubert C. Varnell of Keithville, and W. S. Varnell of
Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. Anis Berry of Stonewall, Mrs.
Ruby Smith of Arcadia, and Mrs. Patsy Alliment of Erwinville; a
sister, Mrs. Forest Garrett of Marthaville; 15 grandchildren, and
one great grandchild.
