All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Port Webb 20 Aug 1943 - Uncle Port Webb, age 84, years, died at his residence in the Bayou Scie community after a long illness. He was one of Sabine parish's oldest and well-known citizens, having loved his entire life in Bayou Scie community of Sabine parish. Mr. Webb was a member of Bayou Scie church and one of its most faithful members. His father was the first pastor of Bayou Scie church. Uncle Port, as he was known to everyone, both old and young, is survived by four children, three sons and one daughter; E. L. Webb, Many; T. A. Webb, J. W. Webb, Zwolle and Mrs. W. R. McFerrin with whom he made his home since the death of his wife. There are 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Bayou Scie church Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock, Rev. J. C. Price officiating, assisted by Rev. Joe Flanagan and Rev. Dykes of Zwolle. Interment followed in Bayou Scie cemetery under the direction of Dennis-Green funeral home of Many.
