All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Homer DeWayne Wages (Photo) A 25 year old Monroe man, formerly of Many, was killed Saturday, Aug. 26, when he lost control of his car on Louisiana 117, one mile south of Hagewood in Natchitoches Parish here. Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's deputies identified the victim as Homer DeWayne Wages. Deputies said Wages was apparently traveling at a high rate of speed when the car left the pavement. Wages died of injuries sustained when he was thrown from the wreckage. Wages was alone in the car, deputies said. The accident occurred at 6:25 p.m., Saturday. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Wages of Monroe; one brother, Gary Wages of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Snell, and Mrs. Carolyn Lyddy of Many; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Della Wages of Canton, Texas; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Simmons of Canton, Texas; and two nieces; and one nephew. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m., in the Many First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rod Smith officiating. Burial was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jim Bruce, Mike Terry, Butch Lee, Gary Estess, Chuck Preston, James Sillon, Donny Webb, and Emie Rutledge.
