Simon R. West Jr.

  Funeral services for Simon R. West Jr., 52, were held Tuesday,
Dec. 21, in the Martin-Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.

  Mr. West was born and reared in Leesville, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Simon R. West Sr., pioneer residents of Leesville and Vernon
Parish. He was a graduate of Leesville High School, and the
University of Southwestern Louisiana.

  For the past several years, he and his family have resided in
Lafayette.

  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eleanor West, five daughters;
Mrs. Jess Robertson, Homer, Captain Gail West, U. S. Army,
stationed in Germany, Miss Susan West of Baton Rouge, La., and
Misses Terry and Robin West of Lafayette.
