John Griffin West

  Services for Mr. John Griffin West, 89, of Hornbeck, were held
at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 1993, in Oak Grove Bible Baptist
Church. Officiating were Rev. H. Wayne Read, and Rev. Edwin
McCullough. Burial was held in Oak Grove Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. West died Tuesday, March 23, 1993, in Sabine Medical Center
in Many.

  He is survived by four daughters, Ernestine Flenniken, Myrtle
Ross, Lorene Manning, all of Hornbeck, and Johnnie Weldon of
Dequincy; one sister, Bertha McDanil of Hornbeck; thirteen
grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; and four
great-great grandchildren.

  He is preceded in death by his wife, Ester Mae Potter West; one
son, J. W. West; one daughter, Ava Novella Sanders.

  Pallbearers were Jeff Ross, Michael Sanders, Scotty Martin,
Ricky Flenniken, Duane Hester, and Toddy Martin.
