Wagley Natchitoches Parish suffered its 22nd parish wide traffic fatality Friday morning, about 9:45 a.m., in a two car collision in Marthaville. Respected Marthaville dentist, Dr. Jerome Emery Wagley, 82, driving a pickup truck, apparently pulled out in front of an automobile driven by Joseph Jett of Provencal. Dr. Wagley was pronounced dead upon arrival at Natchitoches Parish Hospital. Dr. Wagley was born between Marthaville and Belmont in Sabine Parish. At one time, he practiced dentistry in Many. Funeral services for Dr. Wagley were held Saturday at 3 p.m., in the Marthaville Baptist Church. The Rev. G. C. Burnley, and James Burnley officiated. Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett's Funeral Home of Mansfield. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ed Moore, Ray Rains, A. A. Settles, James Hall, Bob Callens, Robert Gentry, Sherwood Law, and Hoyt Law.
