Mrs. Ethel Marie Wethey

  Mrs. Ethel Marie Wethey, 91, of Many, died Monday, July 31,
2000, at Summit Hospital in Shreveport.

  Mrs. Wethey was born July 17, 1909, in Zwolle, to Manuel and
Martha Martinez. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was
a homemaker.

  Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000,
at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment at St. Joseph
Cemetery. Father David Richter officiated.

  Survivors include four sons, E. James Wethey of Baton Rouge,
Marvin L. Wethey of Zwolle, Arnold Wethey, and Freddy Wethey,
both of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Doris Rivers of Zwolle, and
Pauline Fernandez of Baton Rouge; 17 grandchildren, 21 great
grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Mrs.
Wethey was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Wethey; one
daughter, Dorothy Marie Wethey; and two grandchildren, Anthony
Rivers, and Nina Wethey.
