  Brother Harvey Dock White Jr. son of Bro. H. D. White Sr. and
the late Sis. Thelma Lee Lowe-White, was born Nov. 19, 1944 in
Gandy, La. He joined the Bright Star Baptist Church, and was
baptized on May 19, 1957, under the pastorage of the Rev. R. L.
Brown.

  He entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at
Sabine Medical Center in Many, La.

  Brother White attended Sabine High School in Many. He worked in
various occupations in Sabine Parish, notably officer on the
police force, for the town of Florien. When he became disabled,
he continued to encourage others, and visit the sick and
shut-ins. He was faithful in his attendance of Sunday School, and
Wednesday evening Bible Study. He was a member of the
Brotherhood, and often took an active part in worship service -
singing "So Satisfied" with a companion. If Brother White could
leave a message with his friends and family today, he would
possibly echo the words of the Apostle Paul, "For me to live is
Christ, and to die is gain". Thus he is truly satisfied.

  Bro. White was married to the late Fannie Lou Holden-White, and
to that union, four children were born. On Feb. 2, 1979, he
married Judie Faye Maxie, and to that union, three children were
born.

  He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Sis. Judie Faye
Maxie-White; 10 children, Thelma Bell (Eddie) of Pelican, Harvey
Derail (Ethel) of Pelican, April (Steve), all of Many, Karla
(Alga), and William, all of Zwolle, Harvey V. of Florien, Terrace
of Norfolk, Va., Kenneth of Arizona, Earl (Linda) of California,
Franchester, Cynthia (Michael) of Many; 28 grandchildren; 9 great
grandchildren; his father, Bro. H. D. White Sr. of Lake Charles,
La.; five brothers, Michael (Leatha), Rev. Anthony (Patsy), and
Mayor Catrell, all of Florien, William Earl (Hattie), Alvin
(Mary) of Lake Charles, La.; five sisters, Faye (James), Beverly
(Oliver), and Brenda, all of Florien, Yvonne (Robert) of Many,
La., Joan (Robert Houge) of Detroit, Michigan; a stepfather, Mr.
Elizah Owens of Florien.

  Bro. White was preceded in death by his mother, Sis. Thelma
Lowe-White; three sisters, Gwenetta, Stella, and Bertha Mae
Garner; and one brother, Kenneth Ray. We loved him by God loved
him best.
