Mrs. Mattie Lee Hight Woods

  Services for Mrs. Mattie Lee Hight Woods, 85, of Pelican, were
held Sunday, March 22, at 3 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of
Pleasant Hill. Officiating was Rev. Gayle Dean, and Rev. Jim
Myers. Burial was at Pelican Cemetery, under the direction of
Drewett Funeral Home, Mansfield.

  Mrs. Woods, a native, and life long resident of DeSoto Parish,
died Friday, March 20, 1987, in a Pleasant Hill Hospital,
following a sudden illness.

  Survivors are her husband, Orvil Ralph Woods of Pelican; three
sons, N. F. Johniken of DeRidder, Thomas G. Woods of Pelican, and
R. V. Woods of Mansfield; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Barnes of
Pleasant Hill; one brother, Ernest Hight of Pelican; six sisters,
Mrs. Ester Rascoe, and Mrs. Elizabeth Williams of Converse, Mrs.
Ona Grafton of Christ, Tex., Mrs. Sybil Welborn, and Mrs. Mildred
Welborn, both of Pelican, and Mrs. Lois Johnston of Gladewater,
Tex.
