Watkins 1 Aug 1941 - Funeral services for Mrs. J. L. Watkins, 52, who died at Fraser sanitarium Tuesday evening, July 29, were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist church, Many, with the Rev. C. W. Williams officiating. Burial was in Many cemetery. Mrs. Watkins is survived by her husband, J. L. Watkins; tow daughter, Mrs. C. L. Massengill of Many and Mrs. A. J. Goolsbee of Lafayette; two grandchildren, John Llyke Messengill an Cynthia Lou Goolsbee; one brother, Tommie Pyland, Jena; two step-sisters, Mrs. Arthur Bryant and Mrs. Bob Lindsey; one step-brother, Walter Cabenhead, all of Haynesville. Mrs. Watkins was a devoted wife and mother and a great lover of flowers. Her many friends knew this and her room while at the hospital, was always filled with lovely blossoms.
