All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mr. Orbon Clifford Wedgeworth Mr. Orbon Clifford Wedgeworth, 88, of Many, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, at his residence. Mr. Wedgeworth was born February 8, 1912, in Zwolle, to Arch Preston and Sirena Lovelady Wedgeworth. Mr. Wedgeworth was married to Willie Mae Bass on Sept. 15, 1934, and was married for 63 years. He was a defense worker in the shipyards of Orange, Texas, and served in the U. S. Navy. He served as treasurer of Siloam Baptist Church from the late 40's to the early 70's, and was ordained as a deacon at Siloam in 1969. He also served as a deacon at Aimwell Baptist Church. By the age of 70, he became a successful trapper. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, trapping, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 31., at 2 p.m., at Aimwell Baptist Church, with interment following at Aimwell Cemetery. The Revs. Steve Neesley, Vernon Stephenson, and E. E. Walker officiated. Mr. Wedgeworth was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Wedgeworth; his parents, Arch and Sirena Wedgeworth; one son-in-law, Paul Murray; and two brothers, Preston Wedgeworth, and Lee Wedgeworth. Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Murray of Nederland, Texas, and Wanda Walker of Many; one son-in-law, the Rev. E. E. Walker of Many; three sisters, Vera Slaughter, Esther Lightfoot, and Eloise Thomas, all of Many; one brother, Wiley Wedgeworth of Many; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
