Mrs. Marie Whittington

  Mrs. Marie Whittington, 79, of Florien died Monday, March 23 at
Sabine Medical Center in Many.

  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26 at First
Baptist Church of Florien with interment following at Prospect
Cemetery in Florien. The Rev. Bill Hines officiated.

  Survivors include husband, Gordon Elwyn Whittington of Florien; two
sons, Donald Whittington and wife, Betty of Shreveport and Ronald
Whittington and wife, Eleanor of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Reba
Parrot of Shreveport, Thelma Miller and husband, Osborn of Many,
Shirley Stewart and husband, Horace and Margie Brogdon and husband,
Kenneth, all of Florien and Flo Howard of Leesville; three brothers,
Leamon Hardin of St. Cloud, Fla., Otis Hardin of Many and Harold
Hardin and wife, Marlene of Pasadena, Texas; two grandsons, James
Gordon Whittington and wife, Shea of Weston, Fla; one granddaughter,
Jane Mayfield and husband, Steve of Bossier City; one step
granddaughter. Shay Dodson of Houston, Texas; and one great-
granddaughter, Phoebe Whittington of Kennesaw, Ga. Mrs. Whittington
was preceded in death by two sisters. Hazel Hildebrand and Willie Mae
and one brother, Wilburn Hardin.

  Pallbearers were Rodney Jordan, James Salter, Bob Miller, Sydney
Lucius, Steve Mayfield and Bobby Salter.
