All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Olla Christine Lester Weidenheimer Mrs. Olla Christine Lester Weidenheimer died at 3:50 p.m., September 27, 1971, at the age of 67 years, 9 months, 2 days, in Provo Utah. Mrs. Weidenheimer died of cancer, and was under the care of her physician, Dr. Lynn L. Bateman. She resided with her husband, Norman William Weidenheimer, at 2719 North Arapachoe Lane, Provo, Utah. Mrs. Weidenheimer was born December 26, 1903, in Shamrock, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, a daughter of Thomas Jefferson Lester and Marguerite Ella Clark. She was married in the Mesa Arizona Temple to Norman William Weidenheimer on the 21st of June, 1940. They came to Utah in November of 1968. Mrs. Weidenheimer graduated from grade school in May of 1922, and went on to complete one quarter of college work at the Louisiana State Normal College. She took the State Teachers Examination and earned the First Grade Certificate. From 1922-23 she taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades as principal of school. She also taught in a five teacher school 1923-24. She worked 15 years in California as a payroll clerk, cost clerk, and timekeeper. She attended business college in 1930. She and her husband were sealed in the Arizona Temple along with their lovely children, Quanita, Lew, and Joyce, with Rose Sharon later being born under the covenant. Her church service included Mutual Improvement Association, both Ward and Stake, Ward Primary, Sunday School, Genelogy Instructor, and Records Examiner, Lessons in Relief Society, and several years as visiting teacher. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, and one son; Mrs. Waunita Ione Weidenheimer Clark, Monterey, Calif.; Mr. Lew Norman Weidenheimer. Bothell, Wash.; Mrs. Joyce Gwenette Weidenheimer Stale, Salinas Calif., and Mrs. Rose Sharon Weidenheimer Deem, Provo, Utah. She is survived by seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Mavis Lester Hevesy of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth Lester Jones of Provo, and one brother, Mr. Larry Alton Lester of Palo Verdes Peninsula, Calif. The funeral arrangements were handled by Sundbert-Olpin Mortuary at Orem, Utah. Services were held Friday at 1 p.m., Oct 1, in the Oak Hills 3rd Ward Chapel, Provo, Utah. There was a viewing at the Mortuary Thursday Evening from 7 to 9, and at the church prior to the services, Interment was at the Orem City Cemetery. Bishop Strong conducted the services. The family suggests that contributions be made to American Cancer Society instead of flowers.
