All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Lela Weatherford Mrs. Lela Weatherford, 80, died in Many, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 8:30 a.m., after an extended illness. A short Chapel service was held at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home at 8 a.m., Thursday morning, Sept. 11, with the Rev. Raymond DeLaughter, and the Rev. Fisk Ray officiating. Her body was the taken to the Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas, to lie in state until services at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 12. The Rev. Raymond DeLaughter, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Zwolle, and the Rev. Mark Lewis, were the officiating ministers there. Burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Tex., under the direction of Pace Funeral Home. Mrs. Weatherford was born in Angelina County, Texas, in 1900. She had lived in Polk County for 43 years, moving there in 1932. She had been a resident of Zwolle, La., for the past four years, moving here in 1975. She was the widow of Needham B. Weatherford Sr., and mother of the late Robert Alex Weatherford, and Needham B. Weatherford Jr. She was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. June Havard of Zwolle; four sisters, Mrs. Sue Weeks of Diboll, Tex., Mrs. Beulah Kitchens of Huntington, Tex., Mrs. Ola Wright, and Mrs. Vera Parker of Lufkin, Tex.; two grandsons, Robert A. Weatherford Jr. and William Bryan Weatherford; three granddaughters, Dr. Bonita H. Dyess, Mrs. Junie Jamison, and Mrs. Karin Ebarb; and five great grandchildren.
