Oscar Munford Wells

  Services for Mr. Oscar Munford Wells, 89, of Shreveport, were
held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, June 13, at Bethel Congregational
Methodist Church near Pleasant Hill, La. The Rev. Foster Jennings
officiated. Burial was at Zion Rest Cemetery. Plans were under
the direction of Drewett Funeral Home in Mansfield, La.

  Mr. Wells, a retired farmer and cattleman, died Tuesday, June
12, 1984, at the Schumpert Medical Center, after a long illness.
He was a former resident of Pleasant Hill, La.

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Willie Viola Harper Wells of
Shreveport; two sons, Ray Wells of Mansfield, La., and Alton
Wells of Niles, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Norris of
Shreveport, and Mrs. Frances Gray of Natchitoches, La.; five
brothers, Arthur Wells, Roy Wells, Albert Wells, and Jessie Wells
of Pleasant Hill, Alvin Wells of Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs.
Irene Harper of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Mae Powell of Coushatta,
La.; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren.
