"Jack" Walsh died Monday, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. Walsh, 65, suffered from cancer. A memorial services was scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, at the Kenai Elks Lodge. Graveside services were on May 24, at Pisgah, La. Walsh was born March 23, 1924, in Los Angeles. He moved to Alaska in 1959. He was a charter member of the longshoremen's union. He was a member of American Legion Post 20, the Kenai Moose Lodge, and was a charter member of the Kenai Elks Club. He is survived by his wife, Leona; sons, Jerry Hale of Anacoco, La., and James Hale of Houston, Tex.; sister, Winnifred Lawrence of Los Angeles; niece, Jeaneen-Henderson of Los Angeles; cousins, Marty Walsh of Redding, Calif., Ann Christensen of Apple Valley, Calif., and Kitchie McCarley of Los Angeles. Arrangements are by Kenai Funeral Home. Flowers may be sent to Many, La., through local florists.
