Mrs. Vernice Welch

  Services for Mrs. Vernice Welch, 62, of Florien, were held
Thursday, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral
Home. Officiating was Rev. Nick Veret Jr., and burial was at Fern
Park Cemetery.

  Mrs. Welch died at 11:10 a.m., Monday, at the L.S.U. Medical
Center in Shreveport.

  She was a native of Natchitoches, and was a retired grocery
store owner and operator. She was a member of the Westside
Baptist Church.

  She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Scott of
Natchitoches; two sons, Danny Michael Welch of Natchitoches, and
Ronald Scott Welch of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Janet
Singleton of Benton, La.; seven grandchildren; and one great
grandchild.

  Pallbearers were Gary Welch, Nathan Welch, Charlie Lee, Van
Barnhill, Chris DeMary, and Mark Lampkin.
