Officiating was Dr. William Crosby, pastor of First Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. J. R. Hearron (retired). Interment was at Bethany Cemetery in Marthaville. Mr. Wells passed away Monday, Oct. 7, at DeSoto General Hospital. He was born in Pleasant Hill, and was a resident of Mansfield. Mr. Wells owned and operated Ray Wells Tractor Repair. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II during the European Theater. He was retired from International Paper Company, was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the VFW in Mansfield. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Audrey C. Wells; sons, Danny Ray Wells, Jeffery Wells and wife Bobbette, and Martin Anthony Wells and wife Tracy; daughters, Glenda Collins and husband Carl, Brenda Ellzey and James Hearron, Linda Broughton and husband Tommy, Phyllis Brister and husband Dewey; sisters, Mrs. Frances Gray, Mrs. Grace Strong; brother, Alton T. Wells; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
