Walsh, 24, of Opelousas, was killed instantly when struck by a bolt of lightning, while on a fishing trip on Toledo Lake, Sunday, June 17, at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Walsh was sitting in an aluminum boat with a small dog in her lap, and her husband, Robert Walsh, was in the other end of the boat when the accident happened. Neither Mr. Walsh or the dog were injured. It took Walsh about 45 minutes to get back to HLB Landing, where an ambulance picked up Mrs. Walsh's body. Sabine Parish Deputy Wayne Turner also went to the scene.
