"Haywire" Wilson, 66, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999 in Leesville. "Haywire" was born in Toro and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a logger and a school custodian. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4 at Oak Grove Bible Baptist Church in Hornbeck with interment following at Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Baggs and the Rev. Ted Cabra officiated. Survivors include his widow, Evon Wilson of Hornbeck; one son, R. J. Wilson of Hornbeck; two daughters, Shari Basco of Leesville and Stephanie Rubar of Hornbeck; four brothers, E. J. "Buck" Wilson and Wilbur Wilson, both of Hornbeck, Troy Wilson of Longville and Kenny Wilson of Sour Lake, Texas; six sisters, Evaleen Wilson, Sandra Owers and Nell Cunningham, all of Hornbeck, Eloise Arthur of Minden, Mattie Browning of Dodson and Mary Royals of Alvarado, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
