All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Elijah Wilson Funeral services for Elijah Wilson, 74, of Hornbeck, were held Monday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m., in the Old Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and burial was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. T. J. Crosby. Burial was under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many. Mr. Wilson died in Many, on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 11:45 p.m., after an extended illness. Pallbearers included J. E. Farmer, Odell Behan, Dewey Rutherford, Wilmer Prewitt, Willie Dewil, Edward Chance; and honorary pallbearers were A. A. Lawrence, John McCollister, and Leon Castleberry. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Sarenta Wilson of Hornbeck; five sons, E. J., and Wilbur Wilson, both of Shreveport, Troy, and Kenneth Wilson, both of Port Arthur, Tex., and A. J. Wilson of Hornbeck; six daughters, Evaleen Wilson, Mrs. Sandra Owers, and Nell Cunningham, all of Hornbeck, Mrs. Ray Arthur of Fort Hood, Tex., Mrs. Mattie Browning of Dodson, and Mrs. Mary Royals of Ft. Worth, Tex.; also a half brother, Manuel Savell of Anacoco; and sister, Mrs. Lizzie McInnis of Lake Charles; and 31 grandchildren.
