Wilson, 75, of Pleasant Hill, died Oct. 22, in Mansfield. Mr. Wilson was an avid hunter and lover of nature. He was a dedicated member of Bethel Church, and was personally responsible for planning and completing construction projects at Bethel. He labored countless hours in the construction of the sanctuary and educational building. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #764. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Oct. 25, at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church, with interment following at Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Jennings of Bethel C. M. Church, officiated, and the Rev. Daniel McLure of College Town Assembly of God Church, assisted. Survivors include his widow, Jewell Wilson of Pleasant Hill; one son, Robert E. Wilson and wife Linda of Pleasant Hill; two daughters, Earlene Timmons and husband Herman of Mansfield, and Martha Sakre and husband Tom of Bossier City; two sisters, Gladys McCary of Natchitoches, Deanie James of Marthaville; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Michael Wilson, Daniel Ramsey, Matthew Wilson, Jason Timmons, Rusty Timmons, and David Timmons. Honorary pallbearers were Randle Brown, and L. A. Brown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to Bethel C. M. Church Building Fund. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, La.
