Walker Jr., 21, of the United States Army, were held Sunday, Sept. 4, in the Beulah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Coda Salter, and the Rev. Paul Sullivan officiating. Interment was in the Beulah Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Jakie was killed in Viet Nam Thursday, August 25. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Doris Walker of Hemphill, Tex.; his father, J. C. Walker Sr. of Jasper, Tex.; two brothers, Benny Walker of Many, and Donnie Walker of Hemphill; three sisters, Mrs. Gordon Oxley, Mrs. Tommy Cryer, and Mrs. Charles Pilcher, all of Many; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mae Armstrong of Florien. Pallbearers were Chester Cox, Kenneth Speight, Ernest F. Periman, Lynn McLendon, Dean Tarpley, Terry Wayne Wright, Benny White, and Jerry Don McCollister. Honorary pallbearers were Nathan Wright, Howard Wright, Wiley Cummings, Roy Stroud, N. E. (Bill) White, Calvin Cryer, Hoyett Neal, Don Kelly, Buster Lee, and L. L. Cain.
