All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Elva Garcie Willhite (Photo) Funeral services for Elva Garcie Willhite, 87, were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Saturday, June 22, 1996, at 2 p.m. Officiating was Father David Richter, and Father Kenneth Williams. Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Zwolle. Mrs. Willhite, a lifelong resident of Zwolle, entered into rest at Schumpert Medical Center on June 20, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Willhite was a homemaker, and former member of St. Joseph's Circle. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and loved by all who knew her. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sally Sepulvado; one sister, Mae Meshell, former husband, Sam Garcie; and one daughter, Sybil Garcie. She is survived by her husband, O. D. Willhite of 23 years; 8 children; and five stepchildren. Her 6 sons are James M. Garcie and wife Rose of Shreveport, Samuel "Pete" Garcie of Keithville, Herman Garcie and wife Ella of Zwolle, Joseph "Sammy" Garcie and Rosalind of Zwolle, Donnie Garcie and wife Terri of Keatchie, and Allen Garcie and wife Shirley of Shreveport. Her two daughters are Hazel Ebarb and husband J. D., Joyce Leone and husband Simon, all of Shreveport. Mrs. Willhite is also survived by one sister, Edna Meshell; one brother, Wesley Sepulvado, both of Zwolle; 33 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Willhite will be dearly missed by family and friends, and her memory will be everlasting by all who knew her. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Christopher McDonald, the Schumpert staff, and Hospice Program. Thanks to Mrs. Pearl Sepulvado for ministering Holy Communion to her every Sunday. Pallbearers were James Garcia, Ronnie Garcia, Allen W. Garcia, Jerry Garcie, Kevin Leone, Randy Garcie, and Joey Garcie, and Dale Ebarb. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Garcie, Shaun Leone, Jeff Garcie, Bill Garcie, Allen Chad Garcie, Jason Ebarb, Keith, and Mike Kershaw.
