Carmel, Henry Truitt Weldon, 31, was found dead at his farm, three miles north of Montgomery, about 2 p.m., Thursday, May 13. According to Grant Parish sheriff's deputies, Weldon died from a self-inflicted wound. His body was discovered by two friends. Dr. M. L. Kuhlman, a business partner, and Gerald Tedley of Montgomery, found the body. The pair said they were driving toward the barn, and were about 75 yards away, when they heard a shot fired. Weldon owned and operated a motor company in Montgomery, and was vice-president of the Northwestern State University Alumni Assocoation. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Friday, May 14, in the Montgomery Methodist Church, with memorial services and burial at the Mount Carmel Cemetery, near Florien. He is survived by his widow; one son, Norman G. Weldon of Montgomery; three daughters, Maria, Diana, and Windy Weldon, all of Montgomery; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Weldon of Mount Carmel; two brothers, Dwayne Weldon of Lufkin, and Dennis Weldon of Mt. Carmel; one sister, Mrs. Donald Dowden of Hornbeck.
