Thomas Curtis Walden

  Services for Mr. Thomas Curtis Walden, 72, of Converse, were
held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 17, at the First Baptist Church
of Converse. The Rev. James Miller, pastor of the church,
officiated, assisted by the Rev. Jerry Schmucker, retired Baptist
minister. Burial, with Masonic graveside rites, was held at the
Converse Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home in
Mansfield, La.

  Mr. Walden, a lifelong resident of Converse, died Sunday,
October 16, 1983, at his residence in Converse, following a
lengthy illness. He was a retired barber.

  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vina Moore Walden of Converse;
one son, Roy L. Cates of Lake Charles, La.; a grandson, Thomas
Cates of New Orleans, La.; a brother, Willis Walden of San Diego,
Calif.
