  Services for Mr. Milton Weldon, 75, of Florien, were held at 10
a.m., Thursday, December 24, 1992, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Officiating was the Rev. Larry Deloach, Rev. Mack Brister, and
Rev. Huey Haymon. Burial was held in Mt. Carmel cemetery, under
the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Weldon died Tuesday, December 22, 1992, at his residence in
Florien.

  He is preceded in death by a son, Truitt Weldon.

  He is survived by his wife, Bessie S. Weldon of Florien; two
sons, DeWayne Weldon of Lufkin, and Dennis Weldon of Florien; one
daughter, Gloria Dowden of Hornbeck; one brother, Ira Don Weldon
of Florien; two sisters, Vernie Thaxton of Florien, Berti Taylor
of Shreveport; seventeen grandchildren; and thirteen great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Gerald W. Thaxton, Charlie R. Thaxton, John D.
Thaxton, Doug Thaxton, James Paul Hardcastle, Ray Russell,
Charles Arthur, and Jimmy D. Weldon.
