All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Andrew "Bud" Weldon Funeral services for Andrew "Bud" Weldon, 61, of Hathaway, were held at 2 p.m., on Jan. 4, in Miquez Funeral Home North Chapel. The Rev. Nathan Avant officiated. Burial was held in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Weldon died at 10:39 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 2, 1994, in Jennings American Legion Hospital. A native of Mt. Carmel, he was a resident of Hathaway for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator. A graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, he taught at Hathaway. He was a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #59, and an Honorary Chapter Farmer of Hathaway FFA. He was a territory manager for USS Agri-Chemical, until the plant closed, and he worked as an agent for BMA (Business Man's Assurance of America) until his retirement. He received several Awards of Excellence from BMA, and also from USS Agri-Chemical Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Louise Ritter Weldon; three sons, James Dennis Weldon of Lowel, Ind., Kirk A. Weldon, and Joe Don Weldon, both of Hathaway; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Cobb of Keithville, and Mrs. Jenny Stewart of Porter, Tex.; one brother, Swepson "Swep" Weldon of Keithville; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe Cobb, Keith Cobb, Kevin Cobb, Andy Weldon, Charles Stewart, Alton Stewart, Charles Richard, and Alex LeJeune. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. T. C. Philastre, Charles Groth, Don Miller, Keith Reed, and Bob Miller.
