  Seventeen year old Phillip Wayne Weldon of Moss Bluff died from
injuries received in an automobile accident Wednesday, Oct. 24,
north of Moss Bluff, at the Calcasieu Parish line.

  Funeral services for the youth were held Saturday morning, Oct.
27, in the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Peason. Arrangements were
under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles.
Burial was in the Middle Creek Cemetery.

  Survivors of the youth include his parents, Jimmie H. Weldon of
Anacoco, and Mrs. L. C. Welch of Lake Charles; one sister; one
half sister; and his grandparents, Mrs. Exie McInnis of Florien,
and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Weldon of Many.

  A scholarship fund at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff,
where the youth was a student, has been started. Donations to the
fund may be brought by the INDEX office, or mailed to Phillip
Weldon Scholarship Fund, Rt. 1, Box 279AA, Anacoco, La. 71403.
