Grandison Williams of Leesville, who had pastored several Sabine Parish churches, died on Tuesday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Willie Williams of Leesville; two sisters, Two brothers; one son; five grandsons; one granddaughter; five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 19, at 12 noon, at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Leesville, with the Rev. A. R. Harris officiating. Burial was in the New Cemetery, with the Winnfield funeral Home in charge. Williams was born on April 23, 1902, to Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Williams at Sicily Island, La. He confessed Christ in 1922, and later moved to Leesville, where he joined the St. Paul Baptist Church. Rev. Williams' first wife was Mrs. Anna Williams, who preceded him in death. He later married Mrs. Mary Willie Williams. Rev. Williams served in many capacities of the church. He was President of the Usher Board, and Chairman of the Deacon board, before being called into the ministry. He had served as pastor of the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill; the Antioch Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill; and the St. Paul Baptist Church in Pelican, over the years. The Pride of Leesville, Lodge No. 41, of which Rev. Williams was a member performed graveside services. Active pallbearers were his son and grandsons.
