Herald J. Williams

  Herald J. Williams, 74, of Shreveport, died on Sunday, Aug. 12,
at 6 a.m., after a long illness.

  Services were held in the Many First Baptist Church on Monday,
Aug. 13, at 5 p.m., with the Rev. Perry Lassiter, and the Rev.
Rod Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Catherine Williams of
Shreveport; one son, Sid L. Williams of Shreveport; one daughter,
Mrs. Joy Vaughn of Dallas, Tex.; two brothers, Carl L. Williams
of Corpus Christi, Tex., and George H. Williams of Austin, Tex.;
one sister, Mrs. Leona Stewart of Stateville, N. C., and six
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Gailor Phares, Ross Williams, Steve Williams,
Robert Vaughn, Max Dover, and Alfice Brumley.
