Williams 1 May 1942 - Last rites for J. B. Williams, age 83 years, were held Tuesday at 4 o'clock, at the Many Methodist church, Rev. B. H. Andrews, superintendent of the Lake Charles district of the Methodist church, officiating, assisted by visiting preachers. Interment was in Many cemetery. Pallbearers were: Dr. S. F. Fraser, Robert B. Jackson, Edwin M. Fraser, Robert J. Lucius, R. A. Fraser and C. D. Hancock. Surviving are widow, Mrs. Lelia Williams; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Clark, San Francisco, Cal.; three sons, C. B. Williams of Gruber, Texas, L. G. Williams of Ruston and K. C. Williams of Houston, Texas. Rev. Williams died suddenly at his home at 6 a.m. Monday, He had served in the ministry for 46 years, and was superannuated in 1933, making his home in Many since retiring. His first charge was the Wesley circuit near Coushatta. He also served as pastor at Haughton, Pleasant Hill, Pelican, Lisbon, Bienville, Grand Cane, Jackson, Clinton, Ponchatoula, Many, Coushatta, Benton and Plain Dealing. He was admitted to the 42nd annual conference of Louisiana Methodist church held in Shreveport in 1887. Fifty years later he attended the 92nd annual conference of the church held in Shreveport in November, 1937.
